Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Community Officer to lead the delivery of strategic communication and stakeholder engagement activities for major infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with a specialist team to develop key messaging for community updates, email blasts, webpage content, and social media.

They will provide communications advice to project teams to develop stakeholder and engagement plans, strategies, and materials.

Responsibilities include facilitating meetings, coordinating events, workshops, and community consultation activities.

The Senior Community Officer will also coordinate media activities and responses to stakeholders, build relationships, and promote open communications and best practice engagement initiatives.

Requirements
  • A high level of experience in communications and engagement, preferably in a complex government environment.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, liaise with multiple stakeholders, and be process-driven.
  • Adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for making a positive community impact.
  • Skills in communications, engagement, media, or public relations are essential.
Benefits

This role offers hybrid working arrangements with some time spent in the office and at project locations. The salary is competitive and includes superannuation.

Additional Information

This is a temporary full-time role available until further notice.

The role may involve travel to project locations and attendance at sites as required.
