About the Role

Our QCoal Northern Hub Project is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yards Person to join our team on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions and results.

The QCoal Northern Hub is situated approximately 6km south of Collinsville in Central Queensland, providing an ideal location for those looking to work in a remote area.

As a Site Maintenance Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Tractor slashing, whipper snipping, and poisoning entrances, workshop compounds, and go line crib huts to both Jaxs and Sonoma;
  • Tidying up bunding around workshop compounds;
  • Straightening and cleaning workshop compound signage;
  • Making new signage and repairing old, damaged signage for production;
  • Performing general building maintenance such as windows, doors, water leaks, etc.;
  • Assisting HV Electrician's with aircon installs, etc.;
  • Delivering SOS samples to the post office;
  • Operating Franna/IT loader equipment around site (highly desirable);
  • Carrying out general T/A duties with the stores;
  • Concreting and minor road repairs;
  • Cleaning out sumps;
  • Conducting weekly water treatment plant inspections and services;
  • Pest control around workshop compounds and go line crib huts.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have prior experience in a similar role and a commitment to a positive safety culture. Experience working in an open-cut mining environment and holding valid RII certifications are highly desirable. A standard 11 qualification and a valid driver's license are also required.
