Procurement Specialist Role

As a key player in the dynamic energy market, this role involves driving efficiency and mitigating risks by leading and managing procurement activities, developing sourcing strategies, and optimising supplier relationships.

The Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in contributing to the overall success of the procurement function by:

  • Developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans, including tender processes and contract negotiation.
  • Managing market intelligence, identifying supply chain vulnerabilities, and building preferred supplier networks for current and future requirements.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on sourcing-related issues, including contracting strategies, negotiation tactics, and supplier management.
  • Fostering effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Monitoring supplier performance, managing contract review meetings, and ensuring spending is aligned with organisational objectives.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business or supply chain management.
  • 5+ years of experience and strong knowledge of procurement processes, best practices, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with strategic sourcing, tender processes, contract negotiation, and contract management.
