Job Summary

The NSW Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Officer to join the Emergency Department at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. As a Senior Resident Medical Officer, you will provide clinical care to patients requiring emergency medical services in a complex clinical environment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a critical care environment and develop your skills in autonomous practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare team members
  • Manage competing priorities in a complex environment

Requirements
  • Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment
  • Adept written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills

About the Hospital
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is a major metropolitan teaching hospital providing a range of services including coronary care, intensive care, orthopaedics, general medicine, surgical, obstetric, respiratory, rehabilitation, paediatric, maternity, and emergency care. The hospital also provides a wide range of outpatient services including allied health, dental, and podiatry clinics, child, adolescent, and family health, drug and alcohol, health promotion, and rehabilitation and aged care. An acute mental health service is co-located at Hornsby Hospital.
