Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Career Medical Officer to join our team at Macquarie Hospital. The successful candidate will work as a Night Duty Medical Officer, providing medical assistance to patients in the hospital's units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide assistance to nursing staff
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team-based environment
  • Conduct assessments and plan treatment and/or discharge in accordance with the Mental Health Act
  • Collaborate with consultant psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals

Requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work a 38-hour week, with standard hours of 22:30 – 08:30. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to respond to medical emergencies as needed.
