Disability Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Professional to join our team at Lifestyle Solutions. As a Support Worker in our Supported Independent Living program, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and support customers in developing their personal interests and skills, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Coach customers in independent living skills, such as cooking, domestic, and social skills, to enhance their quality of life.
- Administer medication and adhere to individual support plans, ensuring the highest level of care and safety.
- Document clear, concise, and factual handover notes and incident reports, maintaining accurate records and facilitating effective communication.
- Provide personal care, including toileting, showering, feeding, and dressing, when required, with dignity and respect.
- Facilitate customer engagement with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities.
- Be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, active nights, and sleepovers, to meet the needs of our customers.
- Develop versatile communication skills, including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers, to ensure effective support and advocacy.
- Possess a current Driver's License, as this is a mandatory requirement for the role.
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or be willing to obtain one, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003, or confirmation of enrolment, to provide emergency care and support.
- Be willing to complete a National Police Check, to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers.
- Hold formal qualifications in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, or similar, which would be advantageous in this role.
