As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing daily supports to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to enhance their skills and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily supports to individuals with disabilities in Supported Independent Living Arrangements (SIL)
  • Use a strengths-based approach to help participants achieve their personal goals and enhance their skills and independence
  • Work collaboratively with the Supports by Design team to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Assist with skill development for independent living, recreation, learning, and community access
  • Support and manage individuals' behaviors using Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Complete daily case notes, administrative tasks, and incident reports
Requirements
  • Prior professional or lived experience supporting someone with a disability
  • OR a genuine interest in entering the field of work and have completed or currently undertaking relevant study
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Suitable availability to work on a rotating flexible roster, including day, afternoon, and active night shifts, sleepovers, and weekend shifts
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including manual handling tasks
  • Auslan skills are desirable, though not necessary
What We Offer
  • Casual or part-time employment with a minimum of 20 hours per fortnight
  • Casual base rate of $41.76 per hour, night shift base rate of $46.77 per hour + super (10%)
  • Part-time base hourly equivalent rate of $37.35
