Regional Health and Safety Manager

About the Role:
McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Regional Health and Safety Manager to join their team. Reporting to the National Health and Safety Manager, this position will cover the QLD/NT and NSW/ACT regions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing Health & Safety management support to both current operational construction projects and the Health and Safety teams across projects and tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Health & Safety management of Regional Operations and the Project is effectively implemented to achieve compliance with MMS / PMP, legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
- Provide effective and practical advice, development and mentoring of Project Health & Safety teams to enable independence and capability in the safe delivery of our Projects.
- Deliver the H&S direction, strategy and implementation across the Region in accordance with the Region Business Plan.
- Deliver legal compliance and management insight.
- Ensure the consistent, coordinated and effective approach to Health and Safety across the region.
- Ensure continual improvement in Health & Safety performance year on year.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Minimum of 10 years operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry.
- Hold a minimum of Diploma in OHS qualification.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, preferably with stand-up training experience.
- Competent user of in-house software, with working knowledge of wider applications.
- Experience in investigating and reporting safety incidents.
- Working knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedure
