We are seeking a skilled Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join our team in the Brisbane and SEQ regions. The ideal candidate will have experience in road infrastructure projects and be able to commit to a period of approximately 2 years with a possibility of extensions and other projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of health and safety plans
  • Complete risk assessments, audits, task observations, and safety investigations
  • Complete and maintain any documentation required on the project as per the Federal Safety Accreditation and ISO Accreditation requirements
  • Ensure relevant legislation is adhered to
  • Provide training and support to team members
  • Manage and develop relationships with employees and stakeholders

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' WH&S experience on TMR road infrastructure projects and conducted related audits
  • Strong understanding of latest OH&S legislation
  • Experience working on road construction projects in the rural environment
  • Time management and task prioritization capabilities, with an ability to meet deadlines and manage pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Qualified in OHS

The proposed hours are 36-45 per week, however longer hours and weekend work may be required to suit workload. The role is Logan Region / QLD based and preference would be given to someone who is local to the project within the Sth Brisbane to Gold Coast within an hour's drive of Jimboomba.

You must have the right to work in Australia, with well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills and a current driver's license.
