As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Brooks Automation, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality automation solutions.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing innovative automation solutions, from concept to production, using tools such as PTC Creo.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to develop new products and support existing ones.
- Mentoring junior engineers and sharing knowledge within the team.
You will be working on designing automation products with electro-mechanical components, including motors, gears/pulleys, and sensors. Experience in part/component detailed design, tolerance stackups, and 2D drawings for manufacture is essential. Skilled communication and problem-solving skills are also required.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar).
- 8+ years of experience in product design engineering, ideally in machine, small appliance, or materials handling fields.
- A strong understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques.
- New product development experience from conceptual design through to production.
- Excellent critical thinking, diagnosis, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrable ability to work autonomously and deliver results within agreed timeframes.
