About the Role

The Indigenous Accounts Manager will play a crucial role in facilitating and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to gain meaningful and sustainable employment. This involves working with employers across South Australia, in both metropolitan and regional areas, to secure opportunities through marketing and business development efforts and support jobseekers into paid employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote employment opportunities to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to secure job opportunities and provide support to job seekers.
  • Provide culturally sensitive employment services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers, including resume development, interview preparation, and job placement.
  • Lead and support important projects and pre-employment programs to enhance the employability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers.
  • Work closely with other teams at Workskil Australia to directly benefit customers and support employers to establish and develop culturally safe workplaces.
Requirements
  • Understanding of the impacts of intergenerational trauma and its effects on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons and families.
  • Able to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, while respecting traditional cultures and values.
  • Strong passion and drive for helping people find sustainable and meaningful employment.
  • Collaborative interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive client and partnership relationships.
  • Ability to have a yarn with customers, build trust, and provide guidance on suitable job opportunities or pathways to employment.
  • Ability to effectively screen and refer customers to relevant job opportunities and advocate for customers directly to employers.
  • Ability to work hard and achieve clearly defined KPIs.
  • Able to use a computer (Word, Outlook, Excel) and have a good typing speed.
  • Able to show strong administration skills, experience with data entry, and ability to utilize CRM systems.
  • Understands the importance of attention to detail, able to work under pressure, and display effective time management skills.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence valid in South Australia.
  • Highly regarded: Previous experience in the employment services sector or in an end-to-end recruitment or program/account management role.
