About the Role:

The Major Developments Planning Manager is responsible for planning the provision of services to support the expansion of Unitywater's water and sewerage networks to meet population growth. This includes establishing necessary infrastructure agreements to ensure equitable assignment of cost and responsibility for delivery of necessary infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the planning of long-term infrastructure to service our rapidly growing region.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for sustainability and liveable communities on the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions.
  • Collaborating with Councils, State government, and other key stakeholders to deliver high-quality emerging communities.
  • Building strong relationships with the development industry, participating in industry groups, and negotiating terms and conditions of water infrastructure agreements.
  • Reporting to executives and the Board on risk and development triggers.

About You:

To contribute to Unitywater's values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty, Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities:

  • An engineering degree with significant experience in a utilities or infrastructure environment, focusing on asset planning.
  • A strong understanding of infrastructure planning, demand forecasting, and water industry regulatory environments.
  • Previous experience leading a team, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to ensure outcomes are delivered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience in liaising and consulting at Board and Executive level, and with developers and other internal and external stakeholders.
