Electrical Estimator Role

Our company is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to lead and support bids from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead bid preparation, ensuring timely delivery for senior management review.
  • Manage relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers, and consultants to secure competitive pricing.
  • Explore value engineering opportunities to enhance bid competitiveness.
  • Mentor junior team members and share expertise to foster professional growth.
  • Develop tender strategies and manage all tender deliverables.
  • Identify and document project risks, ensuring they are accounted for in the tender process.
  • Ensure tender submissions meet client requirements and closure deadlines.
  • Manage post-tender correspondence and respond to queries under guidance.
  • Support negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3-4 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in an EPC or large-scale electrical engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with estimating software like Pronamics Expert or similar platforms.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze contractual documents, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract tendering procedures and best practices.
  • Experience in renewable energy or switchyard/substation projects is highly regarded.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
