Financial Accountant Role Overview

We seek a skilled Financial Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, process payroll tax submissions, and prepare BAS reports in compliance with ATO regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software, including journals, reconciliations, and ledgers.
  • Allocate and process payroll tax submissions and superannuation contributions in compliance with ATO regulations.
  • Prepare and lodge the monthly/quarterly BAS, ensuring accurate calculations for GST, PAYG withholding, and PAYG instalments.
  • Process intercompany transactions payments/receipts between entities in foreign currency transactions, applying accurate exchange rates and reconciliation.
  • Timely invoicing for operational expenses, spare parts, and commissioning, including monthly summary reports on all operational expense, spare parts, and capital expenditure cost movements.
  • Submit timely and accurate capital expenditure reports with supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate yearly physical stocktaking of operational equipment and property plant and equipment.
  • Provide data and analysis to support budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Perform job costing analysis on production jobs to identify opportunities and risks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or actively pursuing) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar accountant role, preferably in a manufacturing or corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end accounting processes, including month-end close and reconciliations.
  • Proven experience with BAS, superannuation, PAYG & withholding tax compliance.
  • Experience with intercompany forex payments and international transactions is essential.
