Hitachi Vantara Corporation is dedicated to delivering innovative power and automation solutions that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the energy sector. We are currently looking for an ESG Regulatory & Product Material Compliance Specialist for the South Asia/Pac region, with the position based in India or Australia. This role will be part of our Global Competency Center within the Legal and Integrity function, reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and execution of the corporate ESG & Product Regulatory Compliance strategy.
  2. Continuously monitor, analyze, and provide insights on ESG and Product Material Compliance regulations affecting our operations and product offerings.
  3. Evaluate compliance requirements, assess implications, and facilitate effective risk management strategies.
  4. Ensure alignment of local and regional compliance efforts with global standards and processes.
  5. Lead legal communications with regulatory bodies, collaborating with various business and functional teams.
  6. Offer training and guidance to internal teams regarding ESG and Product Material Compliance regulations.
  7. Manage cross-functional compliance initiatives and projects.
  8. Integrate compliance measures into existing operational processes and tools.
  9. Support the refinement of current processes and the establishment of new protocols for ESG Regulatory and Product Material Compliance.
  10. Proactively identify compliance challenges and implement solutions.
  11. Guarantee adherence to corporate standards and regulations for ESG and Product Material Compliance in the South Asia/Pac region.
  12. Promote education and knowledge sharing within the organization.
  13. Embody the core values of safety and integrity, taking accountability for actions while fostering a supportive environment for colleagues and the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in a relevant field (graduate or postgraduate).
  2. 8-10 years of experience in ESG regulations, particularly in environmental compliance.
  3. Desirable knowledge in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Engineering.
  4. Strong communication skills across all levels of management in a complex organizational structure, with the ability to work remotely and adapt to change.
  5. Experience in multinational corporations with extensive matrix organizations.
  6. Proficient in Project Management and overseeing external consultants and legal firms.
  7. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP).
  8. Proactive problem-solving approach to challenge existing practices.
  9. Willingness to evolve the role in response to changing regulatory landscapes.
  10. Fluency in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  11. Openness to travel (10-20%).
