We are looking for an ESG Regulatory & Product Material Compliance Specialist to oversee compliance matters in the South Asia/Pac region, based in India or Australia. This role will be part of our Global Competency Center within the Legal and Integrity business function, reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development of the corporate ESG & Product Regulatory Compliance strategy.
  2. Monitor, analyze, and provide insights on ESG and Product Material Compliance regulations affecting Hitachi Vantara's operations and product offerings.
  3. Assess compliance requirements, advise on implications, and facilitate effective risk management.
  4. Ensure alignment of local and regional compliance strategies with global standards and practices.
  5. Lead legal communications with regulatory bodies, collaborating with various business and functional teams.
  6. Deliver training and support to internal teams regarding ESG and Product Material Compliance regulations.
  7. Manage cross-functional compliance initiatives and projects.
  8. Integrate compliance processes into existing operational frameworks and tools (such as SharePoint and SAP).
  9. Contribute to the enhancement of processes related to ESG Regulatory and Product Material Compliance.
  10. Proactively identify and address compliance challenges and issues.
  11. Ensure adherence to corporate standards and regulations for ESG and Product Material Compliance in the South Asia/Pac region.
  12. Promote education and knowledge sharing within the organization.
  13. Embody the core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while supporting colleagues and the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  2. 8-10 years of experience in ESG regulations, particularly in environmental compliance.
  3. Desirable knowledge in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Engineering.
  4. Strong communication skills across all levels of management in a complex organizational structure, with the ability to work remotely and adapt to change.
  5. Experience in multinational corporations with extensive matrix organizations.
  6. Project Management experience and familiarity with managing external consultants and legal firms.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP).
  8. Proactive problem-solving approach with a willingness to challenge existing practices.
  9. Adaptability to evolving regulatory landscapes.
  10. Fluency in spoken and written English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  11. Willingness to travel as required (10-20%).
