Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and collections throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage driver schedules and allocate vehicles efficiently
  • Sub-contract out-of-area waste disposal services
  • Monitor driver locations using trackers and phones
  • Assist with customer inquiries and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Book trailers onto ferries and manage trailer allocations
  • Process internal invoices and approve external ones
  • Administer trailer hire and vehicle bookings
  • Provide accurate job lists for drivers and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience in a similar environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the UK road network and geographical areas
  • Able to work under pressure and cope with high volume peaks
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
