We are seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Manager to join our team at BMD Constructions in Brisbane.

About the Role

This is a key position responsible for developing, delivering, and enhancing an effective insurance strategy for the BMD Group.

You will be working closely with the Chief Risk Officer and other business units to identify and manage risks, build partnerships, and add value to the Group Insurance Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the BMD Group insurance portfolio, including defining and implementing a group-wide insurance strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Oversee claims management, placement of insurance coverage, and advise on contractual risk allocations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest insurance trends, regulatory changes, technology advancements, and market offerings, both domestically and internationally.
  • Develop and maintain clear governance procedures to ensure efficient and effective insurance management.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business/Commerce, Law, or Engineering disciplines.
  • At least 10 years' experience in relevant insurance and construction experience, with a strong background in claims management and insurance strategy.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance provisions in construction-related contracts.
  • An engaging and collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships and adapt to different teams and cultures.
