Job Opportunity

The role of Senior Commercial Manager is a key business partnership position responsible for driving commercial growth and profitability through strategic partnerships and business analysis.

This is a critical leadership position that will lead the delivery of gross profit improvements across all channels, embedding trade spend governance, promotional management and standard ways of working across all major national accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Co-lead strategy setting and business planning for the Commercial teams
  • Business Analysis: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support commercial decisions, including pricing, promotions, and customer investments
  • Customer Engagement: Partner directly with brands and customers to improve business outcomes and drive growth
  • Partner Sales on Key Business Rhythms such as IBP (Integrated Business Planning) & ICP (Integrated Category Planning), ensuring best in class delivery of results and risk monitoring
  • Lead a team of two analysts
  • Project Management: Support and manage major initiatives, ensuring financial viability and alignment with business goals
  • Lead key workstreams for trade spend optimisation across all channels
  • Prepare and assist with pricing and analysis of business proposals and new product development for all opportunities
  • Ensure execution of Global Pricing Policy ensuring margin is in line with agreed strategies
  • Manage costs proactively through understanding of cost structures/drivers within the business and promoting comparison and benchmarking
  • Analyse and challenge product portfolio to identify cost optimization opportunities, eliminate value destroyers and maximize return on investment
Requirements
  • A qualified finance professional with recent experience partnering sales leaders within a reputable organisation
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to influence decisions and lead cross-functional teams
  • Previous experience with trade spend, pricing and promotional management
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, P&L management
  • A strong team leader, who can coach, mentor and develop
