About the Role
This position plays a pivotal role in advancing our understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and rights. With a legacy of commitment to Indigenous employment and reconciliation, Australia Post has been at the forefront of these initiatives since 1988.
The primary objective of this role is to facilitate impactful outcomes aligned with the Group's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Key responsibilities include:
- Driving the integration of the Australia Post Group's Stretch RAP.
- Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective execution and reporting of the Stretch RAP.
- Providing strategic leadership and guidance on the development of inclusive policies and cultural frameworks that resonate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Overseeing the delivery of Indigenous initiatives and cultural events, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Consulting regularly with Indigenous employee reference groups to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and strategies.
- Championing Indigenous recruitment and career development programs to enhance workforce representation.
- Offering insights on Indigenous trends and policies to drive continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and facilitation skills, demonstrating the ability to influence in complex environments. You will be adept at managing large-scale initiatives from inception to completion.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in leading significant initiatives and Indigenous leadership programs.
- In-depth knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.
- Experience in the effective implementation and monitoring of Reconciliation Action Plans.
- Ability to foster Indigenous Employee and RAP Working Groups for authentic representation.
- Expertise in developing cultural frameworks to enhance engagement and reconciliation efforts.
