About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team in Southern Melbourne. As a permanent full-time or part-time employee, you will provide best practice, evidence-based occupational therapy services across the scope of practice to children and young people with a disability.
Your working days may involve delivering therapy in various settings, including people's homes, educational settings, or in the community, aimed at maximising a person's functional skills and participation as well as promoting physical health and wellbeing.
You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, and Psychologists, providing indirect client service/family coordination to support client goals.
Job DescriptionThis fulfilling role offers the opportunity to support children and young people with a disability to achieve their goals and live the life they choose. You will be responsible for:
- Delivering evidence-based occupational therapy services to children and young people with a disability.
- Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support services.
- Providing indirect client service/family coordination to support client goals.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience working within a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model.
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- A willingness to improve on your clinical practice, including self-reflection and a focus on developing clinical skills in areas you're not familiar with.
- Care for the work you do and for the people you work with.
- Competency in a variety of IT platforms, particularly client management systems.
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapy).
- An Australian driver's licence and own vehicle, and a willingness to travel across Southern Melbourne region, as required.
