Job Description:

The Advanced Case Manager will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex offenders on court orders who have completed part of their sentence in custody.

The successful candidate will deliver dynamic practice in the case management of offenders with complex needs and those who have committed serious offences, ensuring effective assessment, planning, intervention and review.

They will also motivate and influence individuals in the case management process, modelling pro-social behaviours and drawing on offender strengths-based approaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a strengthened and integrated through-care approach for offenders transitioning from prison onto court orders
  • Encourage offenders to take ownership, accountability and responsibility to organise necessary appointments with other services required
  • Link offenders with services including alcohol and other drugs (AOD), mental health, housing, and mental health
  • Produce written reports with appropriate analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders and other standard documents in line with procedural guidelines
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strong communicator, able to adapt your communication style accordingly. You should also have a non-judgemental attitude, treating offenders with respect as members of our community.

Other essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Comfortable working in a team environment, assisting other team members to work on shared goals
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
  • Ideally have exposure to complex groups such as homelessness, drug and alcohol, and child protection
  • Ability to practice self-care, maintain a work-life balance, and reach out to colleagues, mentors, managers or external providers if required
