Senior Claims Specialist

This role is a rare opportunity to lead the management of member claims and investigations, supporting our members in their times of need. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in insurance claims management and a strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation.
About the Role- Key Responsibilities:
- Managing member claims and investigations to support our members;
- Providing guidance, advice and support in the indemnification of claims;
- Formulating a claims management strategy for the member, to achieve the best possible outcome;
- Partnering with Solicitors in the support of our members claim as required;
- Contributing to Avant's provision of claims services including special projects, writing articles and presentations;
- Participating in the resourcing of the medico-legal advice hotline.
- Tertiary qualifications in law or health;
- Solicitors with a valid practising certificate will be highly regarded;
- Previous demonstrated experience in insurance claims management;
- A strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation;
- A strong focus on time management and work management;
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
- Proven ability to work in an electronic document management system;
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
