Job Title: Group Strategy Director

At dentsu, we're seeking a highly skilled Group Strategy Director to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our strategy function, you'll be responsible for driving the day-to-day operations of our local strategy team, balancing the needs of our clients and the agency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective media strategies that meet client objectives and drive business growth.
  • Lead a team of media strategists, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality outputs and efficient deployment of resources.
  • Collaborate with the CSO and MD to prioritize resource allocation and ensure alignment with local client priorities and organic revenue opportunities.
  • Identify and develop 'big bet briefs' that present opportunities for award-winning work and drive business growth.
  • Manage direct reports, helping them develop as motivated, productive, and passionate practitioners and members of the wider team.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of media agency experience, with 7+ years in a strategic discipline.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape and levers of effectiveness in media and communications.
  • Able to support clients with 'beyond the brief' strategic support, such as portfolio planning, budget setting, and marketing plan development.
  • Strong understanding of industry and proprietary tools and systems used within dentsu, with the ability to guide junior team members on their outcomes.
  • An optimistic attitude, able to positively contribute to the shape of the discipline, team, and agency in a fast-moving industry.
