Senior Wine Manager

We are seeking an experienced and passionate wine professional to lead our wine program at a highly regarded Italian canteen and wine bar in Western Australia.

Our wine list is diverse and extensive, featuring a range of Italian wines from various regions, including Barolos, Barbarescos, Chiantis, and Tuscan superstars. We also feature a selection of Australian and Western Australian wines, showcasing the best of the region's blue-chip producers and avant-garde winemakers.

The successful candidate will work closely with our leadership team and supporting floor staff to maintain and develop our wine program. They will be responsible for staying up-to-date on beverage products, restaurant influences, and wine regions and vintages, as well as sharing knowledge and mentoring the wider team on wine service.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop the wine program in collaboration with the leadership team and floor staff
  • Stay up-to-date on beverage products, restaurant influences, and wine regions and vintages
  • Share knowledge and mentor the wider team on wine service
  • Exercise autonomy in wine selections and purchasing negotiations
  • Manage stock control and inventory management effectively

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Italian wine and cuisine
  • Minimum of two years experience as a sommelier in a premium dining environment
  • WSET Diploma or CMS Advanced certification is preferred, but not essential
  • Experience with POS system programming
  • Excellent administrative capabilities
