We are seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our dedicated Building Compliance team. This role is responsible for enforcing building regulations and overseeing the assessment of development applications.
">Main Responsibilities- Deliver Timely Services: Provide efficient building certification and development assessment services, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Investigate Unauthorised Works: Investigate unauthorised or non-compliant works, applying relevant legislation and codes, and taking necessary actions to ensure compliance.
- Provide Expert Advice: Offer expert advice to stakeholders on certification and compliance matters, providing clear guidance and support.
- Manage Workload: Effectively manage workload to meet service delivery standards, prioritising tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with internal teams to support a positive and results-focused environment, fostering effective communication and teamwork.
- Assess Building Compliance: Conduct thorough assessments of building compliance, identifying areas of non-compliance and developing strategies to address them.
- Conduct Statutory Inspections: Conduct statutory inspections to support a trusted certification service, ensuring quality and safety at every stage.
- Tertiary Qualifications: Possess tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in building surveying principles and practices.
- Registration: Be registered as a Building Surveyor under NSW Fair Trading requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Driver's Licence: Hold a current Class C Driver's Licence and Construction White Card, enabling safe and efficient travel to site locations.
- Experience: Have extensive experience in building surveying, including roles as Certifying Authority and Principal Certifier, demonstrating expertise and knowledge in the field.
- Skills: Possess strong skills in interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation, enabling effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge: Have a deep understanding of relevant legislation and codes, including the EP&A Act, Local Government Act, and BCA, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
