We are seeking a seasoned Underwriting Professional to drive growth, deliver exceptional service, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders in Melbourne and across Australia and the Pacific region.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity requires a Senior Property Underwriter to contribute to business success, foster collaboration, and enhance our market presence, focusing on the Melbourne placement market and also across Australia and the Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities- As a senior technical underwriter, you will assess risks and make informed decisions that align with our strategic objectives.
- You will be responsible for expanding the Property account in line with overall business appetites, controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines.
- Building strong relationships with major customers and brokers is crucial to fostering trust and delivering tailored solutions.
- You will underwrite and price Property risks, determining acceptability in terms of catastrophe, risk, and compliance exposures.
- Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- You must have a full understanding of the Insurance Industry and Client/Broker/Insurer relationships.
- Proven analytical skills to judge complex or unusual risks are required.
- A proven record in insurance sales, leadership, and organisational skills is necessary.
- Previous Insurance experience is essential – minimum 10 years, preferably Property and Commercial lines experience.
