We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Inghams' Primary Processing Plant in Bolivar, Australia. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled tradesperson to utilize their expertise in maintaining and repairing equipment to contribute to the success of our company.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance to achieve acceptable production levels and a high standard in engineering support.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely manner;
  • Reduce reactive maintenance and proactively improve unplanned downtime;
  • Assist in developing and introducing maintenance programs to support all internal stakeholders;
  • Ensure the execution of safety standards and quality assurance practices into all repairs and maintenance activities;
  • Identify and escalate Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks;
  • Take personal responsibility to ensure livestock is treated humanely by self and others.

About You:

  • Australian recognized Mechanical Trades qualification;
  • Experience in servicing, repair, and maintaining various equipment, including but not limited to automated machinery, conveyors, and more, in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably primary food processing or food and beverage industry;
  • Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety practices;
  • Experience in fault finding on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems;
  • Basic fabrication skills;
  • Experience in breakdown as well as preventive maintenance;
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate, and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders;
  • Proven skills in the areas of attention to detail, information processing, and problem-solving with the ability to multitask;
  • Experience with Maximo as a CMMS would be an advantage;
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
