About The OpportunityThe Environment & Planning directorate is seeking experienced Environmental Health Officers to join their team on a permanent basis at the Civic Centre, located in Hurstville.
This position reports into the Senior Environmental Health Officer and will be involved in working as part of the Health & Regulatory Services function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering environmental, food, and public health regulatory programs, including inspections, investigations, and enforcement under relevant legislation.

- Work as part of the Health & Regulatory Services function, reporting to the Senior Environmental Health Officer.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Provide high-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively and professionally with external bodies.
- Proven mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or a similar field.
- Class C Driver's License.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and ability to follow processes and procedures associated with regulatory investigations and inspections/audits.
Georges River Council offers a range of benefits, including:
- Salary from $94,000 to $109,466.82 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Car Allowance or Lease Back Vehicle.
- 9-day fortnight subject to operational requirements.

- Located in Hurstville CBD, with a 5-minute walk to the train station.
