About The Opportunity

The Environment & Planning directorate is seeking two experienced Environmental Health Officers to join their team on a permanent basis at the Civic Centre in Hurstville. This role reports to the Senior Environmental Health Officer and involves working as part of the Health & Regulatory Services function. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering environmental, food, and public health regulatory programs, including inspections, investigations, and enforcement under relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver environmental health regulatory programs, including inspections, investigations, and enforcement under relevant legislation.
  2. Respond to service requests and provide high-level verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Liaise effectively and professionally with external bodies, including mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  4. Follow processes and procedures associated with regulatory investigations and inspections/audits.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or a similar field.
  2. A Class C Driver's License.
  3. High-level verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of environmental health functions, including the competent delivery of inspections, investigations, and enforcement under relevant legislation.
