Senior Governance and Compliance Specialist - Job Summary:
Job DescriptionThis role involves leading the development and implementation of corporate governance and compliance strategies to ensure that our organization maintains robust governance frameworks and meets statutory obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing mandatory online training for all non-HR policies;
- Maintaining and reporting on key compliance registers, including corporate policy suite, complaints, lobbyists, and employee interests;
- Oversight of public interest disclosures, conflicts of interest, right to information, ethics, lobbyist management, and audit coordination;
- Driving strategic planning and reporting cycles, facilitating risk workshops, and serving as the principal liaison for regulatory and government engagements;
- Liaising with external auditors and coordinating periodic reviews of policy artefacts, including reminders, QA, registration, and approvals;
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- A proven track record of leading corporate governance functions and providing strategic advice in complex, multidisciplinary environments;
- Deep understanding of statutory compliance obligations, including policy frameworks, declarations of interest, RTI coordination, and audit engagement;
- Demonstrated ability to manage strategic projects and reporting cycles, including annual reports, service delivery statements, and enterprise risk workshops;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clarify and influence broad, complex issues across all levels of the organization;
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with leadership abilities that foster innovation, ethical behavior, and a culture of accountability and transparency;
