We're seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and testing automation systems for our machinery.

Solving complex challenges is at the heart of this role. You'll use your problem-solving skills and technical expertise to troubleshoot automation issues and ensure all solutions meet relevant safety, regulatory, and company standards.

You'll collaborate with design and project engineers, fitters, service technicians, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality systems on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the automation lifecycle: Design, develop, implement, and test automation systems
  • Solve complex challenges: Troubleshoot automation issues using problem-solving skills and technical expertise
  • Collaborate across teams: Work with design and project engineers, fitters, service technicians, and stakeholders
  • Ensure quality and reduce risk: Ensure all solutions meet relevant safety, regulatory, and company standards

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering and 5+ years' relevant industry experience
  • Experience delivering automation projects in a packaging or manufacturing environment
  • Proven skills in PLC/HMI development and programming
  • Programming for Rockwell and ABB is essential
  • Solid understanding of control systems, software, electrical schematics, and safety integration
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Commitment to high standards of quality, compliance, and documentation
  • Experience with customer commissioning and field support is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, including ISO and WHS requirements
