PLC System Specialist Job Description

Job Title: PLC System Specialist

At Bouygues Construction, we design and deliver nation shaping projects across civil infrastructure, engineering and energy.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled PLC system specialist to troubleshoot, maintain and modify PLC systems. The ideal candidate will have trade qualification as an Electrician and post-trade qualifications in PLC programming and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve faults in PLC-controlled systems and update software and hardware as needed.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems for auxiliary equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Install, troubleshoot and calibrate electrical components and instrumentation across various systems.
  • Follow all safety regulations and perform lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs and PLC changes, and prepare technical performance reports.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification as an Electrician with relevant post-trade qualifications in PLC programming and industrial automation.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
