
Financial Compliance Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Financial Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our compliance function, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our business operations are conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regular production, auditing and delivery of timely and accurate compliance monitoring for Mercer Investments Australia (MIAL)
- Proactively monitor adherence to procedures and control checks on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis
- Assist with the investigation of breaches and incidents and ensure timely resolution and improvement to the control environment
- Run the regulatory change forum and drive regulatory change projects
- Maintain the Mercer Investments Training Plan and conduct training for the business
- Ensure appropriate procedures, risk and control guidelines are maintained and adhered to, and identify, update and maintain gaps in controls and procedures and work with the business to come up with solutions for compliance
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of financial markets and investment management processes, including the drivers behind market movements and knowledge of asset manager processes
- Legal or Compliance experience (2+ years) from a funds management or similar background required
- Tertiary qualification and/or industry specific qualification such as a law degree or other equivalent university qualification
- Good organisational, research and administrative skills are a must
