Our role at the University is to ensure effective and efficient management of core functions, including finance, human resources, procurement, records management, and Work Health and Safety obligations.

This position works collaboratively with central university units to deliver on strategic and operational priorities.

We are seeking a highly skilled Institute Operations Officer who can:

  • Ensure compliance with university policies, funding body requirements, legislative obligations, and research governance standards.
  • Oversee administrative systems, processes, and risk mitigation frameworks to support accountability and operational efficiency.
  • Support financial operations, including budget coordination, procurement, Concur acquittals, expenditure tracking, and reporting.
  • Manage records and documentation to ensure secure, compliant, and auditable systems.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Research Institute and functional support teams, including Finance, People & Culture, and IT.
  • Promote and implement workplace health and safety practices to support a safe and compliant work environment.

The successful candidate will have experience in overseeing administrative and operational systems, managing internal systems for risk mitigation, and facilitating financial operations. They will also have excellent stakeholder engagement and liaison skills, with a strong track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
