
Senior Development Planner

We are seeking a forward-thinking Lead Planner to join our team, focusing on sustainable development initiatives.
- This role is part of our National Planning Business Unit, where you will expand your expertise in energy and sustainability sectors.
Leveraging your knowledge, you will provide expert advice and insights to clients, primarily in NSW but with potential national project involvement.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality services including advice on renewable energy, land use planning, development capability, due diligence, planning approvals, and smart city frameworks.
- Prepare and manage planning applications, Environmental Impact Statements, and Environmental Management Strategies.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through trust, quality advice, and effective communication.
- Compose written submissions, proposals, and advice tailored to client needs.
- Oversee small to medium projects, including scoping, costing, tracking, and coordinating consultants.
- Identify and communicate issues affecting project timelines and budgets.
- Coach and mentor team members as appropriate.
- Contribute to quality assurance and the Planning team's Business Plan.
- Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects, ensuring delivery within scope, deadlines, budget, and desired outcomes.
- You hold a tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Town Planning, preferably in renewable energy and sustainability sectors.
- You understand smart city, sustainability, and resilience principles in project delivery.
- You possess a strong grasp of impacts on the natural and built environment, and strategic policies.
- You show interest and emerging skills in research related to innovation, energy, sustainability, and smart cities.
- You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- You are proactive, informed, and decisive in influencing project outcomes.
- You effectively manage client priorities and expectations.
- You positively challenge practices to achieve optimal results.
- You have experience coaching and mentoring team members.
- You can manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgets.
