Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Traffic Operations Coordinator to join our team in Tamworth, NSW.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating traffic control services, rostering staff and vehicles, and ensuring efficient operations. This role requires strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Rostering of staff and vehicles to ensure seamless coordination of traffic control services
  • Scheduling high volume traffic control services to maximize efficiency
  • Coordinating fleet and equipment utilization to minimize downtime
  • Organizing vehicle maintenance schedules to prevent delays
  • Assisting with drug and alcohol testing (if qualified)
  • Accommodating clients and staff as needed
  • Monitoring, allocating, and controlling Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Responding to calls and service enquiries from clients and staff
  • Ensuring client schedules are filled and continuity of service is maintained
  • Reporting safety concerns to management and planners
  • Communicating Standard Work Method Statements (SWMS), Traffic Management Plans (TMP), and Temporary Traffic Guidance Signs (TGS) to the team
  • Supporting recruitment and induction processes for new staff members
  • Tracking staff qualifications to ensure compliance
  • Updating databases with client and employee information and notes
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in administration and rostering
  • Experience in traffic control and/or recruitment would be highly beneficial
  • Strong computer and administrative skills, including proficiency in software applications
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, maintaining professionalism in all interactions
  • Passion for working with people and providing excellent customer service
  • Confident telephone manner and effective communication skills
  • Determination to succeed and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
