Award-winning Abacus Human Capital is seeking an experienced Strategic Operations Director to spearhead business growth and drive success in their Brisbane office. As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee practice management, HR, Marketing, and Finance functions, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality service delivery.

About the Role:
  • Manage the practice management team, driving efficiency and productivity
  • Oversee HR, providing expert guidance on recruitment, performance management, policies, L&D, remuneration, and employment law issues
  • Lead the Marketing function, assisting with Business Development and strategic planning
  • Review legal documents, ensure compliance, and engage with external lawyers as needed
  • Plan, organise, and assist in business planning and strategy, including annual planning days and regular Partner meetings
  • Act as an Ambassador for Abacus Human Capital, liaising with national and global brand entity representatives
  • Liaise with the IT Committee and oversee the local IT function

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer, General Manager, or equivalent role, preferably with accounting or legal background
  • Strong knowledge of HR, navigating complex scenarios, projects, and employment issues
  • Ability to plan, organise, and assist in business planning and strategy
  • Experience in marketing and business development-related roles
  • Effective communication skills, establishing long-lasting relationships with clients, colleagues, and leaders
