
Patient Access Liaison

- This role involves collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance plans to gather information about a patient's insurance coverage for specific pharmaceutical products. The Patient Access Liaison will support healthcare providers in addressing questions regarding coding and billing, as well as navigating complex reimbursement issues.
- Supports the facilitation of cases through the process as required, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures, while providing the best level of service and quality.
- Conducts benefit investigations for patients by making outbound phone calls to payers to verify patient insurance benefit information, navigate complex reimbursement barriers, and seek resources to overcome these barriers.
- Verifies patient-specific benefits and documents specifics including coverage, cost share, and access/provider options.
- Identifies any coverage restrictions and details on how to expedite patient access.
- Documents and initiates prior authorization processes and claims appeals.
- Reports any reimbursement trends or delays in coverage to management.
- Serves as a liaison for field representatives, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Demonstrates in-depth understanding and experience with Major Medical & Pharmacy Benefit Coverage.
- Minimum 2-3 years of benefit investigation involving analysis and interpretation of insurance coverage.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience interacting with healthcare providers in regard to health insurance plan requirements.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and grammar.
- Salesforce system experience is preferred.
- Demonstrates in-depth understanding and experience with Major Medical & Pharmacy Benefit Coverage.
