As a Strategic Mining Engineer, you will play a critical role in long-term mine planning to support and align with business priorities.

Your extensive industry experience will enable you to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide stakeholder group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing mine planning strategies to support growth opportunities within the Copper SA province
  • Producing underground mine designs and schedules across multiple mining methods to optimise long-term value
  • Supporting the integration and optimisation of Copper SA
  • Utilising industry experience to develop continuous improvement initiatives

You will work closely with project teams to deliver value and promote mine planning as the vehicle that supports, collates, and drives forward all technical disciplines and asset optionality.

Job Description

Strategic Mining Engineers are responsible for developing and implementing mine planning strategies to support long-term business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in underground mine planning and operations, with a strong background in strategic planning and problem-solving.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Requirements include:

  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering (or equivalent), with a strategic mindset
  • Extensive experience in underground mine planning and operations across various operations/projects
  • Expertise in underground hard rock mining methods including caving methods
