Mechanical Engineer - Design Authority Signatory

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in Woolloomooloo. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and development, with the chance to become a Design Authority Signatory for Mechanical Engineering tasks.

About the Role

This position involves developing skills and experience to satisfy the requirements for becoming a Design Authority Signatory. The responsibilities will include:

  • Performing design tasks and analyses appropriate to individual experience and specialised knowledge in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working under broad professional guidance, independently or as a team member to ensure that design products comply with the technical requirements of the task and are performed within the allocated cost and schedule.
  • Working towards the attainment of Chartered status of IEAust.
  • Planning operations and processes required to complete allocated design tasks, including estimation of requirements of staffing, material costs and quantities.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications admitting to membership of a professional institution.
  • Relevant drafting, technical and task management experience.
  • Experience in the use or management of CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is essential.
  • 3D Modelling software packages highly desirable.
  • Experience with the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Project highly desirable.
