Job Description:
The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inquiry Secretary to join our team. As a senior officer in a small secretariat team, you will provide research, advisory, and report writing support to one or more parliamentary committees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning and conduct of committee inquiries
- Provide advice to committee chairs and members regarding parliamentary practice and procedure
- Support the Committee Secretary in leading and developing junior secretariat staff
- Liaise with senior executive stakeholders, including Members of Parliament
Requirements:
- Equivalent level to an Assistant Director in Australian Public Service agencies
- Ability to demonstrate leadership in professional experience
- Security Assessment: Designated committees will require appropriate security clearances
