About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our global Legal Team at OFX. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary to manage legal risk within the business, providing broad-ranging corporate and commercial legal support to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and consultation to senior management on corporate, commercial, legal, licensing, and regulatory issues.
- Work closely with the Global Executive Team and the OFX Group board on key strategic and commercial initiatives.
- Manage legal risk and advise on global regulatory changes and their impacts on compliance obligations, including payments regulations and sanctions advice.
- Support the launch of new products and capabilities, including the new client platform and business transformations.
- Draft, review, and update commercial contracts with clients, partners, and service providers.
- Draft, review, and update product and customer terms and conditions and policies, including the privacy policy.
- Draft and review internal policies and procedures to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Law degree with superior academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school.
- Current Australian practicing certificate.
- 7+ years of post-qualification experience as a lawyer in a top-tier law firm.
- Previous in-house experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Financial services (payments) experience is ideal but not essential.
- Exceptional analytical, written, and oral communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with directors, senior management, and other employees from all parts of the Company.
- A commercial and pragmatic attitude.
- Ability to take initiative in bringing value from a legal perspective.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced, fluid environment handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently while maintaining the highest standards and attention to detail.
