Visy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Accountant to join our team at our Somerton site in Melbourne. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic and operational financial advice to the business, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial and reporting processes.

The Role:

  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Plant Manager – Plastics, ensuring key business drivers such as EBITDA, Sales, and Safety are accurately measured and met.
  • Manage capital expenditure from request stage to final capitalization.
  • Assist with the annual budget and Full Year Forecast processes.
  • Monitor and manage working capital.
  • Maintain all accounting systems and procedures in accordance with corporate accounting policies and generally accepted accounting standards.
  • Reconcile the general ledger and resolve any issues as required.
  • Monitor and maintain the asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • Maintain and improve the integrity of accounts, processes, and systems.
  • Participate in stocktakes.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; or CA/CPA.
  • Proven experience in Management Accounting within a fast-paced environment, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Consolidation & Reporting software (preferably Hyperion).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and problem-solving.
  • Permanent residency or appropriate working visa.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Committed to working on-site full time.
