Disability Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

About the Role:

In this role, you will provide individualized support to clients with varying levels of need, ensuring their independence and dignity are maintained at all times. Your expertise and knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will be invaluable in helping clients access the support and services they require.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plans
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, grooming, and mobility
  • Provide transportation assistance to clients as required
  • Offer respite care to clients and their families, promoting relaxation and stress relief
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of clients
Requirements:
  • A minimum of high school education or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience working with people with disabilities
  • Experience with dementia is highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
