
Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Learning Support Officer to support our learning program. The role of a Learning Support Officer is to ensure all students are provided with assistance to achieve competency within the normal range of student outcomes or in accordance with their personalised learning plans.
The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, provide 1:1 support to a student, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have sound Literacy and Numeracy skills.
This role requires the ability to participate in various school activities such as sports, sacramental programs, liturgies and school excursions, and develop and maintain strong working relationships with all staff.
The ideal candidate will be flexible to work across different year levels as required, support classroom teachers and school leadership in duties that promote student wellbeing and school improvement, and work with individual students with disabilities, impairments or learning difficulties.
The selected candidate must be able to keep privileged information confidential, collaborate with teachers in monitoring and evaluating individual student progress, and provide classroom teachers and the Learning Diversity Leader with information on student progress and successful strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to provide 1:1 support to a student.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in both oral and written communication.
- Sound Literacy and Numeracy skills.
- Capacity to participate in various school activities such as sports, sacramental programs, liturgies and school excursions.
- Capacity to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all staff.
- Flexibility to work across different year levels as required.
- Support classroom teachers and school leadership in duties that promote student wellbeing and school improvement.
- Ability to work with individual students with disabilities, impairments or learning difficulties.
- Keep privileged information confidential.
- Certificate 4 in Education (preferrable).
- Working with Children Check.
- A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to undertake a First Aid Course).
