Our company is seeking a highly skilled Shift Coordinator. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working within the underground coal mining industry.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating activities on a shift-by-shift basis with a crew covering seven days per week. They will also be expected to execute the underground shift plan while ensuring statutory compliance is maintained.

To achieve this, the Shift Coordinator will provide safe, efficient delivery and coordination of activities across all sections of the operation. They will monitor, consult, and make decisions to ensure delivery of plans as outlined by managers and peers.

In addition, they will complete statutory inspections and reporting, recommending and initiating actions to meet statutory obligations. Furthermore, they will operate equipment efficiently to meet or exceed production targets.

The Shift Coordinator will communicate all relevant issues to oncoming operators and collaborate with electrical and mechanical Process coordinators to plan maintenance activities.

A key aspect of this role will be assisting with systematic approaches to identifying and delivering sustainable production process and method improvements.

The successful candidate will hold an extensive background in the coal mining process and relevant mining legislation. They must also possess a Second Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (Undermanager RII50920) or be willing to undertake study.

Furthermore, they will require current certifications in risk management, safety investigations, communication, and risk management processes.
