About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Ombudsman to join our team at Lawyers Weekly. As a key member of our dispute resolution team, you will be responsible for resolving complex financial disputes in a fair and impartial manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make decisions on standard and complex disputes in accordance with our rules and fairness principles
  • Provide professional and technical leadership across our organization
  • Coach and mentor case workers and others
  • Develop and implement AFCA approaches
  • Present at external conferences as a subject matter expert
  • Support our relationships with consumer groups, government bodies, regulators, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Legal qualifications and a significant track record of achievement at senior executive level within the financial sector
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly get to the heart of complex issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to convey complex concepts in simple terms
  • Resilience, focus, determination, and excellent engagement skills
