Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Operational Manager that is a logical and strategic thinker with extensive people and business management experience. In this role, you will be responsible for running a team of officers and inmates to undertake the operation for the correctional centre while providing oversight and guidance to staff and inmates.

This involves maintaining strong relationships between senior managers across the Department of Communities & Justice and external stakeholders. You will need to provide leadership and direction to support and coordinate the development of inmate programs and ensure all CSI operational objectives are being met.

You will also be responsible for delivering strong technical and management advice on business issues including procurement and contract management, managing inmate employment, education and vocational training, ensuring output and outcomes are being met in line with CSI Business Plan.

The successful candidate will have excellent time management and computer skills, experience working in a high-pressure environment and managing to deliver key business objectives within set timeframes, as well as managing budgets effectively and allocating resources to meet operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

- Relevant trade experience in any of the following areas: textiles, commercial cooking, waste management, cleaning operations, agriculture, horticulture, laundry operations, building and construction related

- Management experience with staff and business needs

- Knowledge of Business Management Systems (e.g. Pronto, SAP, QMS)

- Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within specified timeframes

- Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role
