We are seeking an exceptional Visual Effects Leader to spearhead our FX team and drive the production of high-quality photorealistic simulations.

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will lead a team of FX Artists, manage production needs, and oversee the technical and artistic aspects of visual effects.

This is a permanent staff position requiring flexibility and collaboration. The role involves working in our Sydney office at least two days per week, with potential relocation to Sydney possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the FX team for delivering photorealistic FX simulations.
  • Collaborate with senior management, producers, and other supervisors to plan and execute FX work.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of experience as an FX TD and prior experience as a Visual Effects Leader.
  • Extensive knowledge of Houdini and other industry-standard software.
  • Proven experience in producing complex effects like smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions.
  • Strong attention to detail, good timing sense, and thorough understanding of physical simulation techniques and technologies.
  • Familiarity with pipeline issues and problem-solving.
  • Experience in project management, balancing quality with time constraints.
  • High-level feature film experience in live-action VFX films.
  • Experience leading and training teams of FX Artists.
  • Strong artistic and technical skills.
